In this busy world we live in, it's important to carve out time for ourselves. Long Island Center for Yoga is a yoga studio located on the south shore of Long Island in the Village of Babylon. Jackie Morrison

Having completed my yoga teacher training in August of 1999 at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, I could not have imagined the depth of what it would mean, or turn into for the next two decades. I did know that it was the first time something felt complete and divinely guided.

 

I had no doubt in my mind that I would go out and share this peace that yoga left me feeling each time I practiced. Twenty years later, numerous classes taught, many more trainings, retreats, yoga teacher trainings offered, opening my studio.. and the journey still continues. My practice is a life practice as is invited into all the moments of my life.

I couldn't be more grateful for that initial thought that said "try yoga" and the will within me to follow through, my first teacher Jim, who inspired me, Swami Kripalu, and Yogi Amrit Desai for providing me with a yoga home. So grateful for the teachings and love that has moved through me to be fully aware of how precious life is and how each one of us are filled with Divine potential. I am forever grateful.

Chris Loma Fouhy

Chris (Loma) is a 200-hour certified yoga teacher, Reiki practitioner, Vibrational Sound Healer, Life Coach, and writer. She began practicing yoga as a teenager and joined LICY shortly after it opened as a student. In the spring of 2016, she completed her certification here at the studio and has been teaching ever since. Chris remembers deciding to begin the training at a time in her life when she felt out of balance. Gandhi’s quote, “Happiness is when what you think, what you say and what you do are in harmony,” inspired her to begin her journey in earnest. She was looking for transformation and the physical practice and teachings of the Kripalu lineage gave her just that. Her gentle yoga classes help to open space and increase flexibility in the body and relax and calm the mind. She finishes each session with Tibetan Singing Bowls, adding vibrational healing to the practice.

Rosalinde Casalini

Rosalinde was certified at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in 2006 and has been sharing her teachings at LICY since.

Celeste Crockett

Celeste is a Registered Nurse as well as a 500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher. She has been certified in Thai Yoga and Eclectic Hatha yoga for 20 years. Her classes include yogic philosophy, asana, pranayama, & meditation. Celeste also has extensive experience teaching Restorative Yoga.

Adrienne Lebron

Adrienne has been practicing yoga for more than 25 years and teaching for 12. She is a certified Yoga Works teacher and a certified Asana Alphabet children's teacher. She will bring you through a flow of postures focusing on alignment, breathe, and the principals of yoga philosophy. She inspires her students to "dance with their breathe " and build awareness on their mat to bring into their daily life. She teaches various styles such as; Vinyasa, Slow Flow, Yin, Hatha & Restorative yoga. Her classes tend to infuse these styles into one unique practice. She owns Sketch-n-Stretch, a program for children that interconnects yoga, meditation and art.

Martine Resta

Martine is a certified Essentrics instructor here at The Long Island Center for Yoga. She brings a light & fun dynamic to each of her classes. Essentrics is a unique fitness program that changes the shape of your body through a fluid combination of stretching and strengthening. Scientifically designed to work through the muscle chains Essentrics will loosen the joints and REBALANCE the body helping to alleviate pain while safely developing lean, strong muscles.

This program is LOW IMPACT and designed for all fitness levels.
